Listen, Learn, Grow & Elevate!
Dr. Umar Johnson has been on tour working to Mobilize & Educate the masses in regard to the many crises that we face daily as Black/African People for quite some time; and in 2015 he has not slowed up one bit. In this January 2015 video, Dr. Umar speaks to the importance of standing up & taking Responsibility for not challenging many of the negative forces that we allow to affect us still in 2015. Topics include Socialization, the Lack of Solidarity among Black People, Celebrating European Holidays, efforts to build a school for Black Youth, misplaced priorities, the lack of a viable Economic & Political infrastructure for Black People, The hustler mentality practiced by many of today's religious leaders, holding those leaders accountable for the Huge Sums of Money Donated to Churches & Mosques each week, the character assassination of Black Males & Females-via TV & Movies, the importance of focusing on Black Love and so much more. Another huge point of emphasis lies in controlling the images & true history of our ancestors, as opposed to allowing others to spoon-feed us what they want us to remember about the legacies of frederick Douglass, Malcolm X & Martin Luther King. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WHAT'S GOING ON IN FERGUSON, MISSOURI: A PICTORIAL ESSAY8/16/2014 Amid all of the Rumors, Manipulation of Facts (and Video Footage), Hijacking by Opportunists Agents (Jesse & Al), exaggerated reports of looting, suppression of relevant information, etc, the FACT that a young Man Died-apparently without a Justified Cause. If you remember anything from this post, here's a reminder of what is truly most important...
Early this week we posted a lecture on P.T.S.D., from Activist & Educator Dr. Joy Degruy. and keeping in tune with that theme, we now bring into the discussion the perspectives of well-known Clinical Psychologist Dr. Umar Johnson. Dr. Umar has been speaking on the various mental disorders & cognitive distortions-in spite of evidence to the contrary-that we as Black/African People commit to daily. In the lecture posted below, taken from his very first presentation on the subject, Dr. Johnson continues to explain the science on the causes of many of the delusional & unstable behaviors that personify the Psychological Impact of 400+ Years of Oppression by European & American Interests. Moreover he points out how Churches, Schools, and "Prominent" Black figureheads are used to continue to propagate the Illusion of Progress to Our People-while we continue to fall deeper into a hole of self-destruction & genocide. Comments & Feedback Are Encouraged. One Full City Block Destroyed. Eleven People Dead-including FIVE CHILDREN. Burned Alive. Why??? Because they were deemed as "obnoxious" & accused of "Taunting the Police" for airing Black Nationalist Music & Propaganda from a Fortified set of Row Houses in Philadelphia. An estimated 10,000 bullets were fired into the walls of the MOVE COMPLEX, after a police raid that began at dawn on May 13, 1985. After a 10 Hour Standoff, Philadelphia Mayor Wilson goode (the city's first Black Mayor) approved a police plan to drop a bomb on top of the bunker-and that's where everything went from Bad to Unbelievable. At 5:27pm Military Grade C4 Explosives were dropped, from a helicopter, onto the roof of the MOVE COMPLEX. The resulting fire quickly blew out of control. Police allegedly did not allow Philly Firefighters to fight the blaze, for at least an hour. in the aftermath, 61 homes were destroyed, 250 citizens lost EVERYTHING, Five Children & six adults were burned alive. Eyewitness accounts reveal that MOVE members attempting to flee the building could not get out, because the police continued to fire on the building. Only one child survived the ordeal. Though many were shocked, the mayor was re-elected & no policeman was ever disciplined for their wrongdoing. 30+ years later, the City of Philadelphia would eventually bee ordered to pay restitution to the families that lost their homes; but the decision is still under appeal. I don’t know your name yet because I don’t even know if you are a boy or a girl. What I do know is that I love you. I could’ve made a different decision, the timing was awful. But I couldn’t because you’re my apple. I don’t judge others for their decisions because I can’t place myself in their shoes, but you are part of me, a human being. I apologize ahead of time because life with a single mother is hard. This situation is far from ideal but I chose you and have sacrificed tremendously for you out of love. The outside world really has no idea. I will never stop fighting for you, I want you to know that. I apologize because life being raised by a single mother can be rough, just ask your brother, but were going to be ok. I said I wouldn’t do this all again, your brother is tough but full of so much love. He’s already been through some things as a result of a split household, respect him and trust him to lead you, he’s going to be the best big brother and will love and protect you like no other. You may not be coming into this world into the traditional type of family but all things aside you are pretty lucky to have a kick ass momma and brother. When you actually get to read this one day who knows where we will be, but I write this because I want you to know the love that I feel for you now even in the midst of great adversity. I fight for you now, I sacrifice for you now and that I will never stop fighting for you. See you in 24 weeks my love! Love, Momma I wrote this last week when I was having a very emotional day to say the least. I debated sharing but I think the essence of this in such a difficult place for me is too beautiful not to share and I know other single mothers feel this 100% P.E.A.C.E & Much Luv, Chels |
